Popular villages in Pflerschtal
The main village is St. Anton. Near the village, you’ll find several scattered settlements and individual farmsteads. Popular destinations include the waterfall “Hölle” (Hell), the circular hiking trail in Stein, the mountain lodges Magdeburg and Tribulaun, and, last but not least, the “5-Almenweg” (Five Alpine Pastures Trail). The region is a former mining area, a fact which is still evident today. In the mountains, hikes take you past former mine tunnels, and guided tours offer fascinating insights into the history of mining and the mountain world. The name Silbertal (Silver Valley) is also derived from mining and is still commonly used today.
